“3 of the most useful hours I’ve ever spent on holiday!”
”We signed up for Fungarian before we left for Budapest and chose the three hour option. …
There is always a fear that guided tours are simply a way for individuals to try and steer tourists to certain places that they have a deal with but it was very clear that Miklos does this job because he has such a love of his language, culture and history. He was very inspiring and the three hours went very quickly. After the language and culture parts we then moved on to look a range of other places and got a very in-depth history lesson, backed up with some of Miklos own personal experiences of growing up under communism.
It was also a great way to start off a Budapest visit- the little nuances and traditions were explained and this enhanced our trip especially through our interactions with Hungarians, They appreciated the effort we went to to try and use some of the phrases we had picked up and it is one way to try and dispel the reputation of the ignorant tourist who just points and speaks loudly in English!
Overall I cannot rate Fungarian enough- Miklos has an obvious talent and love of educating and this came through the whole time we were there. It should be an essential part of any visit to Budapest since it enriched our whole experience in a fun and interesting way.”
